Two words, Cup contender. |

Not to be a nit-picker but wouldn't it be Tuesday the 16th? I thought Buffalo has his rights through the 15th. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyone?

Great news JJ. Still think he signs here. Would be nice to have another LW with size and skating ability. |

Why is it I feel like a moth to the flame with this Vesey stuff. I hope he signs with the Hawks but I can't help feeling I'm being set up for disappointment with these rumors. |

If your "sources" (haha), were so good and had an inside track to Vesey..... wouldn't they know whether or not the second contract is the most important aspect in Vesey's decision? |

I remember long time ago, even before the season ended, really it was the spring when you first heard that Vesey wouldn't be going to Nashville, and would be waiting til August, I believe it was Ray Ferraro, said something either in an article or on a show;
"Watch out for the Blackhawks in the Jimmy Vesey sweepstakes."
I remember thinking at the time, he must know something, odd, he must have know something, way before anyone else was saying anything about it. |

Cmon Stan...make it happen.
Assuming the Hawks land Vesey, is there room under the cap for Hudler, too? |

Serious question. Do any players actually want to help and be part of the solution to win a cup or do they always want to take the easy rout and just go to the team that won the cup last? |

I Dam hope so! If so and either Hudler or Vermette with the D re tooled, could be some meaningful hockey at the UC in mid June of 17!
And hopefully if Bowman does land the kid , he gets some sound advice unlike Saad, cause the way it looks now with the nice team Columbus is also building , they won that trade Hands down for future years! So this is like a second chance to land another top 6 winger in the last 5 years! |

WE know one thing:
He and his represenatives and your little wunderkind were not compelling enough to draw him to Buffalo since the draft...so you can sour grapes all you want.
a) He either is holding back from signing in Buffalo to avoid the Boston neighborhood backlash, or
b) The Buffalo situation is simply NOT illed with enough rinbows and unicorns and REAL good players to warrant him signing today or last week to be part of the group. I am not sure Cheerios, buffalo wings, Five Points Bakery, and Ted's unsteamed hot dogs (with catsup on them-yuk!), and sponge candy and a possibilty in the next ten years he see's some playoff games is enough.
It has't wporked so far, Mr. Sour Grapes.

Id think it has to be one or the other . Hudler or Vesey .
I think Vermette is done. |

Well I guess we'll see what happens Monday...no question the opportunity to play on a team with the talent and depth that the Hawks have not to mention a chance to play for a Cup factors in.
It'll be interesting to see how the kid works out. Certainly a lot of pressure on him to produce with whatever team he ends up going to.
Should they land him it would be quite a coup for Stan and co. after last summer's blown moves with Saad and then the Sharp fiasco. By landing Campbell, Kempny and now possibly Vesey it certainly would make this a big summer especially with how little cap space the Hawks have to work with.
Wondering if they then try to grab Hudler on the cheap as well? |

He can come to St Louis. Play for a contender. If good enough, play with Tarasenko. And the Blues would be able to sign him to his next deal without worrying about cap issues.

I was wondering how people could know what Vesey's is going to do before he can talk to anyone...
I mean signing in Chicago makes sense so it's possible the sources are right...but are they guessing or has there been tampering.
Conversely, the kid might want to stay in the East with less travel on a team without cap trouble closer to home... Or not.. |

An NHL source (haha) told me the second contract is the most important aspect to his decision. So whatever. |
